THE PROJECT: this product was designed in the university project "Intorno al Corpo" - (around the body) under supervision of italian designer Francesco Faccin and Alessandro Mason.
THE PROBLEM: develop a product which deals with the body.
THE SOLUTION: a backpack with an internal frame that moves like a spine and aligns with the body.
THE PROCESS: the backpack is made out of two main materials. Textile which is durable enough to be used everyday like cotton canvas and polyactide, the most common material used in 3D printing. The bag is sewed by hand and the internal frame is 3D printed.
5 parts designed in Rhino, inspired by the human spine.
The frame is sewed inside the backpack.
